Yogi Guide & FAQ's
New to yoga?
Here's all the information you need to start your Yoga journey with us.
Get ready for a shift.
01
Definitely not! We encourage complete newbies to try out our FREE beginner classes as well as our community classes (which are donation based). All we encourage you to do is come with an open mind, and exactly as you are.
Do I need to have done yoga before?
02
Bend your knees and voila!
But I cant even touch my toes! I'm so inflexible!
03
Expect to move your body in fun, dynamic ways. To use your breath as a tool to help you move and deepen your experience. It can be can be a challenging practise at times - but thats the point, its a practise, theres no perfectionism here.
Expect to sweat! Not into that kind of thing? We have slower paced classes as well as Yin.
What can I expect?
04
A mat, towel and water is always a good start, but don't have those items? You can rent mats and towels from the studio for R20 each, buy bottled water or fill up your own bottle with our filtered water system at reception.
What should I bring with?
05
There is no dress code!
Wear anything that you are comfortable in, can move around in and that you don't mind getting sweaty (for those heated classes)
What should I practise in?
06
We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes before class starts. No one likes to rush or be in a hot fluster! Especially if its your first time attending the studio, meet the teacher guiding the class, put your things away in the changing rooms and set your mat up in the studio space.
Whats an appropriate time to arrive before class starts?
07
You can book a class by downloading the MINDBODY app, finding the appropriate studio (remember there's two, so make sure you click the correct address), click on the schedule and click "book" next to the class you'd like to attend.
Alternatively you can book via our website on the "schedule" tab.
How do I book a class?
08
Both studios have fully equipped changing rooms, with lockers, showers and toilets. Showers are stocked with liquid soap. Towels can be rented for R20. We also have hairdryers!
We have an exchange policy for our lockers - we give you a key for a locker and you give us your keys to hold. If you plan on joining the studio long term you can pay a deposit of R100 and receive a tag. When tag is returned in the same condition your deposit is given back.
What facilities do you have?
09
We have FREE Beginners classes and Community classes, which are donation based, that you are more than welcome to try out indefinitely. Once you feel ready to deepen your practise further or try a different class we have a drop in option of R220 or many class package options. Please check out the "Rates & Packages" tab to find out more.
